DUMBCANE(also called
Dieffenbachia)
Dumbcanes are native to
South America. Their leaves are generally glossy, leathery and from
one to two feet long. Leaves are dark, medium, or pale green, yellow
or creamy white. Some Dumbcane leaves have white or yellow markings
on them. Plant height varies from three to eight feet, depending on
the variety of the Dumbcane.
CARE FOR DUMBCANE
- Light: Medium or
high light areas will provide the best leaf color and plant appearance.
Avoid full sun to prevent burned leaves.
- Water: Keep the
soil moist, but let the soil surface dry partially between watering.
Excessively dry soil can cause the lower leaves to turn yellow.
- Temperature: Keep
temperatures between 65° and 80°F. Colder temperatures
can damage the Dumbcane.
